Jerome Bury
After getting a degree in Zoology and Genetics from Newcastle University, I have spent most of my working life in practice on Teesside, apart for a short spell with a firm of Venture Capital consultants, based in London.
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 and have worked as a manager and partner, before joining Anderson Barrowcliff as a partner in 2003.
Over the years, I have gained experience in a wide range of accountancy, audit and taxation related services and have looked after a number of clients in engineering, construction, property development, healthcare and import/export sectors.
In my spare time I am a season ticket holder at the Riverside, and spend many a happy hour commiserating with other ‘Boro’ supporters. I love listening to a wide range of music and enjoy going to see live bands. My knowledge of music stops at some point in mid-1999! I’ve tried to learn piano, guitar and the trumpet but have been told, on each occasion, I’ve wasted my time and money!
The rest of my spare time is spent with family and friends, reading (when I can find the time), or cooking and, let’s be honest, eating!
My favourite song is ‘Money, Money, Money’ by Abba.
My favourite film is ‘The Accountant’ starring Ben Affleck.
My favourite book is ‘The Joy of Tax’ by Richard Murphy.
