Joanne’s great expectations!
The arrival of exam results was not the only thing being expected by a member of Tees Valley accountants Anderson Barrowcliff’s team.

Just three weeks after sitting her final paper for the challenging Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualifications, Joanne McNiven, 25, gave birth to a 7lb 13oz daughter, Jessica Anne.
This good news was followed recently by some more, when Joanne found out that she had passed with flying colours.
Joanne joins three other colleagues at the Stockton-based firm who are also now qualified.
James Dale, 27, who was named as New Accountant of the Year 2009 at the Nigel Wright North East Accountancy Awards, not only passed his ACCA exams but managed to do so with excellent marks in his final two papers.
The other highly successful ACCA candidate Emily Smith, 25, who achieved her best marks to date, will now continue to develop her role as a specialist advisor to the legal sector.
Finally Chris Dickinson, 21, is now a fully qualified accounting technician having now completed his Association of Accounting Technician’s (AAT) exams.
Nick Upton, Managing Partner of Anderson Barrowcliff congratulated all the staff on their achievements.
“They deserve huge credit for all the hard work they’ve put in as these exams are very challenging,” he said.
“We are very proud of them and delighted for Joanne who has had double the reason to celebrate!”
Both Joanne and Emily have been with Anderson Barrowcliff since leaving school and Nick adds that the firm actively encourages staff to progress and achieve qualifications wherever possible.
“Our staff are crucial to our success,” he stated. “We have just interviewed candidates for a new trainee chartered accountant position so we are continuing to invest in the future.”
The firm currently employs over 40 staff of which 5 are trainees who are given a full-package of support including mentoring, funded tuition and regular specialist training workshops.
