A vacancy has arisen within Anderson Barrowcliff’s Payroll Bureau, which offers an outsourced payroll service to around 250 of our existing clients and, with more and more clients choosing to outsource their own payroll function, this need is only likely to grow.
The Role
The role involves managing and processing the end to end payroll for around 160 clients who have varied staff numbers, reporting requirements and payroll cycles.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Collating time critical data from clients and uploading into multiple payroll processing software
- Calculating all manners of statutory pay and pension contributions
- Providing clients with a wide variety of reports
- Uploading data to various auto-enrolment pension portals including Nest, People’s Pension etc.
- Calculation of AoEs
- Setup and process of BACS payments from client’s bank accounts for net wages, PAYE and other ad-hoc payments
- Processing and delivery of year end reports and P60s
- Ensuring all payroll activities and procedures are up to date with legislative and statutory requirements
- Liaising with HMRC on client’s behalf when necessary
- Cross checking payroll calculations of other payroll colleague(s)
The Individual
Key (but not essential) experience and characteristics of the ideal candidate would be:
- Previous experience of managing a payroll bureau within an accountancy practice
- Ability to confidently and clearly communicate with clients via telephone and email
- Organised and methodical
- Comfortable adapting to different payroll processing software as well as Microsoft Excel and Word
- An eye for detail and ability to review payroll reports and calculations
Both full time and part time applications will be considered.
Indicative salary of £25,000 - £30,000 is negotiable depending on skills and experience.
